Kayak & Paddle Board Safety
Always tell somebody where you're going, when you're leaving, and when you're coming back.
You should always wear a life jacket. Arizona law requires you to have a PFD with you at all times while on the water, wearing it is not required. All children under 13 must wear a life jacket at all times.
Take plenty of water! Drink more than you think you need on hot days.
Stay clear of all boats, jet skis, and swimmers.
Keep an eye on the weather. Strong winds can come up and blow you away from shore or cause rough water.
Protect yourself from the sun. Wear sunscreen, a hat and protective clothing. Never apply sunscreen in the sun, it will magnify the sun until it is dry.
When near cliffs, be aware of falling rocks. It does happen.
Keep an eye on your group and do not get separated. Watch out for each other.
AND... Have Fun !!. hope you enjoy your time at Lake Powell.
